Transfer foil is a great easy way to create a shiny and impressive surface. Transfer foils are suitable for hard surfaces or fabric. Applications: furniture, musical instruments, clothing, samba or other Latin American dance costumes, circus, interior design products, etc. etc. Countless applications. It is important to choose the right adhesive for the application.
The surface of the transfer foil is partially transparent after application. The width of the foil roll is 30.4cm. The product is sold in 50cm increments: 1 pc=50cm, 2 pcs=100cm, 3 pcs=150cm etc.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
What are APS transfer foils?
Artistic Paint Studio transfer films are made from a thin layer of non-reactive metal sheets fused to a clear cellophane sheet. These beautiful films can be transferred to the surface of your choice using a special APS foil adhesive and a special fabric adhesive (for fabrics).
Watch the first video below for instructions on using transfer foils!
Instructions for use for hard surfaces:
Apply ArtsyVille foil adhesive to the surface (For fabric: DecoFoil Spray Adhesive). Let dry for at least 10 minutes, preferably longer. 30-40 minutes is also fine. The most important thing is that the surface changes from milky white (application phase) to transparent and sticky. Then place the transfer foil on the adhesive with the "beautiful side" towards you/upwards . Rub with a rag and brush (e.g. toothbrush, nail brush, root brush - depending on the size of the object). Carefully lift the foil off. Press back and brush again if the pattern has not transferred completely.
What surfaces are transfer foils suitable for?
Almost any dry, grease-free, dust-free surface is suitable for transfer foiling. Wood, leather, metal, glass, ceramics, textiles (special textile glue for that). The surface does not have to be flat.
There are hundreds of color and pattern options. I will start by selecting a few foils and would love to hear what colors and patterns you would like to see in the selection.
Do the films transfer 100% to the transferable surface?
Unfortunately no, about 90-95% of the film will transfer. For this reason we always recommend painting the base coat with a color that matches the film you are using. Because this color will show through. We also recommend using APS glue to ensure adhesion.
Dare to experiment; one transfer foil will look completely different depending on the color of the base color; e.g. black or white.
